Guidelines per Industry
Industry-specific best practices to configure your Dialog assistant, with ready-to-use templates and setup checklists.
Pick your assistant
Section titled “Pick your assistant”Two types of assistants, two dedicated sections: pick yours:
- PDP (Product Page Assistant): answers product questions directly on your product pages
- Personal Shopper (PS): guides your customers with a few questions, then recommends the right products
Each section is organized by industry. Find yours, copy the templates, and adapt them to your brand.
What guidelines control
Section titled “What guidelines control”Whichever assistant you configure, its guidelines shape the content of its answers, not the product recommendations or the suggested questions. Their best use is to set tone and style, and to handle recurring cases consistently (for example, redirecting order questions to your support email).
- Keep guidelines short, written in full sentences, and free of contradictions.
- Cap yourself around 10 to 15 rules, past that they start competing with each other and hurt response quality.
- If a guideline isn’t fixing the problem, it’s probably the wrong tool: a wrong product answer needs better product data (description, tags, or the
dialog-datametafield), missing general info needs an uploaded document, and an off structure needs a reworded guideline, not an extra one.
