Personal Shopper (PS)

Best practices for configuring your Dialog Personal Shopper (PS), industry by industry.

  1. Start from the Reusable generic blueprint, it defines the 9 fields of a PS configuration and the 3 profiles (quick discovery, standard routine, deep diagnostic).
  2. If your industry has a dedicated page below, use it: it adds category-specific guidance on top of the blueprint.
  3. If not, the blueprint alone is enough, and the last page shows concrete examples for other niches.

Fields 8 and 9 of the blueprint, Tone and brand voice and Cross-cutting guardrails, work like Dialog’s guidelines elsewhere: they shape how the assistant talks and behaves, not what it knows or which products it can recommend. Keep them short, written in full sentences, and capped around 10 to 15 rules combined, past that they start competing with each other.

If the assistant gets a specific product wrong, that’s usually a catalog problem, not a tone problem: fix the product data before adding another guardrail.
